About Me

Hello there! I'm Ramanna, a storytelling nomad on the quest to find the right words to define myself.

I have been captivated by the narrative potentialities of designed interactive encounters for as long as I can remember, and am continually intrigued by their experiential facets, both imagined and felt. To that end, I've been researching and designing across multiple disciplines - through my academic and professional tenure - and developing a better comprehension of how we tell and listen to stories (at least, better than before).

To know more about my experience in detail, check out my resume↗ .
From the late 1990s, since before my feet could touch the floor from a chair, I have taken an avid interest in games - narrative games especially - with their stories involving us as participants through their unfolding. I think that love for narrative participation became the backbone of my pursuits, kinda defining all I do - from making a Monopoly knock-off in C++ during my high school, to creating architectural spaces and masterplans that rely on the pedestrian experience to define them, to designing multiple phygital products involving the user in their functioning, to finally researching the spatialities of Interactive Digital Narratives in VR through my most recent master's thesis. That intrigue has also expanded my horizons on understanding what constitutes stories - especially as we teeter on new frontiers of digital storytelling.

Oh, I still play video games, and I have a bit of a soft spot for indie games that innovate on game mechanics in favor of telling a more involved story. Recently, I was extremely impressed by and had so much playing The Return of Obra Dinn, Disco Elysium, and Inscryption.

Beyond this, you'd probably find me taking long walks, playing the bass at jam sessions, and also capturing photos. My instagram has become a sort of a narrative journal in itself, where I pair the photographs I capture using my phone with poetry that explores various themes such as purpose, aspirations, conversations and mental health.

I am currently based in Dessau, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, but I am open to moving around as necessitated by the opportunities. You can reach me by using the contact form besides, or even reach me directly by mail to discuss any collaborations and projects.
