The Social Office is a design research report speculating what the future of workspace character, both culturally and spatially, would have to be moving forward in a post-pandemic world.
This report was the result of trying to analyse both the shortcomings and advantages of the current work culture adopted owing to the pandemic, and propose a culture that would involve formulating a "new" work culture, utilizing what we have learnt from the earlier analysis, for a better, alternative work ethic.

To understand the current impact of the pandemic on work ethics and culture, we each individually began by interviewing a person on the ways their work culture had changed with the pandemic, the pros and cons of working from home, and the effect of this change on their mental health and well-being.

After our individual studies, we identified thematic similarities across our interviews and subsequent analysis, and formed groups based on them to take our research and subsequent proposals forward.
The theme that our group zeroed in, was one of needing to collaborate and wanting a different physical space to work, as opposed to the current WFH culture. And we set out on understanding the factors that play into this, and how we can help in this regard.
