Saunter is a simple, single-seater balcony furniture allowing the user to remove and reattach the backrest in opposing directions, to suit the spatial configuration of the balcony as well as the user's wishes.
It was born out of an intention to allow the user to be able to take a break from working and turn around the sit perpendicular on the seat, to allow them to relax their eyes and take a gander outwards of the balcony.
The project originally was halted before it began, back in March 2020, and when the institute decided to allow students temporary access to the campus and workshop, for a small portion of the earlier part of 2021, we came in to rework and attempt to finish this project within that timeframe, whilst attempting to learn workshop possibilities, material capabilities, and structural concepts behind designing a simple piece of furniture.
